Altech Continues Development of Definitive Feasibility Study in Relation to CERENERGY 100MWh Plant
Altech's senior management are currently in Saxony, Germany, conducting workshops in joint venture partner Fraunhofer's institute, located in Dresden.
The workshop is continuing with the development of the plant layout and design to produce the 1MWh GridPack battery. These aspects will be key contributors to the Definitive Feasibilty Study for the 100MWh CERENERGY plant, with the DFS on track to be finalised by the end of the year.
Using sodium chloride (common table salt) technology that does not rely on expensive lithium, copper, cobalt, graphite or manganese, and which are fire and explosion proof, the CERENERGY batteries are destined for the grid storage battery market.
When renewable power can't be produced from the sun or wind, grid storage batteries are required to store the power as it is produced, for returning to the grid when power is required but not being produced.
